Volunteers to drive community involvement in upland habitat work, outreach and education, and local events

Quail Forever (QF) is proud to introduce the newest Kansas Quail Forever chapter. The Southeast Plains chapter was formed by rural volunteers near Yates Center and is committed to bringing more upland conservation and community involvement to their area. They have a strong passion for education and outreach, and plan to focus on youth events, workshops, and helping new conservationists learn more about habitat, quail, and what it means to be part of the upland community.

Unique among national conservation organizations, chapters of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever retain 100 percent decision-making control over fundraising dollars, allowing volunteers to support impactful wildlife habitat projects, public access initiatives and conservation education programs throughout the upland bird range. PF & QF’s East Central Kansas regional representative, Mika Rezac, will work closely with the new chapter to support the organization’s vision to sustain abundant populations of wild quail, pheasants and other wildlife.

“The formation of the Southeast Plains chapter of Quail Forever marks an exciting step forward for conservation in southeast Kansas,” said Rezac. “This chapter will focus on improving upland habitat, supporting youth and community outreach, and bringing together dedicated volunteers to make a lasting impact on quail populations and outdoor traditions in the region.”

The chapter will be hosting a virtual meeting May 28 at 6:30 PM CT for people to meet the chapter officers and learn about getting involved in quail conservation in Kansas.
